Tarik was born and raised in Baltimore City, saw the disparities in the various neighborhoods and wanted to do his part by giving back.  He was able to persevere through education and sports, attending Calvert Hall, receiving a full scholarship to Virginia State, to later get his Master’s and became a schoolteacher in Baltimore City.
